Love, Tuesday... Vermont in the Fall!

For this Love, Tuesday I thought I’d share about the beautiful retreat we have this fall in Woodstock, Vermont.

New England is about as far away as you can get from this girls California raised childhood. But, it was a place I had always dreamed of going. I wanted to see the beauty of the bright red, orange and yellow leaves falling onto the paths of little farms with red barns and quaint country towns with little white steeples. Because let’s face it, this kind of thing does not happen in Southern California.

So when my husband and I were planning our honeymoon (almost 30 years ago!) we decided to take a two week road trip and plan our wedding around the fall foliage… and it was the BEST trip for these two newlyweds! We both fell in love with this part of our country and since then have been back many times. I wish I has some photos from our honeymoon on my computer to share, but this was before digital photography and I think they are in storage in a box… waiting for our house to be built so we can put them back up on a shelf.

Fast forward to 2017 and the idea to do a retreat in Vermont came when my husband and I took a trip out for our 28th wedding anniversary to pick up some skis at Burton in Burlington, Vermont, that he WON for free, yes FREE!

It was such a beautiful trip and even though it was a little early for the fall leaves to be in full splendor, it reminded me of how Vermont is still one of my favorite places to visit. Woodstock, Vermont is truly special to us because it holds strong memories for us. We planned this last trip around going back to a place we went to on our honeymoon… but couldn’t afford to stay the first time around. We were on such a tiny budget on our honeymoon and that was fine, and probably very normal. But this time was so special to us because we were able to stay at a place we had seen the first time (and drooled over) and now we were able to stay there! Truly a blessing that did not go unnoticed, and my eyes may have gotten a little “wet” too. ;)

So fast forward to this NEXT fall… and we are hosting an Art & Faith Creative Retreat at THAT HOTEL! It’s not really about just a hotel though. The town of Woodstock, Vermont is like stepping back in time to a Norman Rockwell painting. Or, you could also say that you’ve stepped into the filming of Gilmore Girls! The town is walkable, the hotel is situated in the “town square” and we even spotted a town Troubadour! If you’ve been to my retreats in Bellagio, then I guess this place meets those same requirements that I want, for a small, quaint and unique place to GATHER.

I am so humbled and honored and excited to share this place with everyone that has signed up, and with Sheila Atchley who will be joining me to teach in this stunning location.

The Woodstock Inn

It will be a 5 night, 6 day retreat where we will create art, explore nature, ride bikes through those paths full of fall leaves, discover their culinary garden, and come together as a community of believers who desire to know God more.

I Can. Not. Wait.

This is going to be a beautiful small group of women who I know the Lord is calling to come together. We wanted to keep this group to about 20 women so that it feels intimate and heartfelt. We want to enjoy our days together, getting to know each other and what the Lord has in store for us.

Sheila and I are praying about the theme and getting excited about how that will tie together with the art.

We have three rooms left and there are options for quad rooms still available.

So we would LOVE for you to join us, and we hope that you will prayerfully consider signing up and joining us this fall in Vermont!

For all the details of the costs, what is included and what to expect you can click on the SHOP button above and then click on the photo that announces this retreat. As always, if you have any questions, you can also contact us via the CONTACT button at the top of this page.

We look forward to meeting you in Vermont and sharing this special time with you.

Have a GREAT Tuesday!
