My Word for the Year is...

Some years/seasons are harder than others.

Over the last 6 years I’ve taken some time at the end of each year to reflect, pray and seek out the Lord and what He is wanting to speak into my life. It goes along with Ali Edwards “One little word” concept that I have done for many years, just with a biblical twist to it. Something I feel the Lord is wanting for the year ahead to be mindful of, or focused on.

Some years I haven’t enjoyed hearing the word He’s given me. 2018 it was STRETCHED... and boy was that a hard year.  Leaving a life behind in California and moving to a new state and building a new life and home on 36 acres of land! 😳  Last year was Purpose, and I couldn’t have seen more clearly the Purposes God has put on my life than this past year! 🙌🏻

This year I heard the word PREPARE.

Another doozy! We’re 10 days into 2020 and it’s still taking me time to process this word, yet Ive already heard two messages on this, a devotional perfectly suited to this word and a bible verse came to me with this word... just in the last week! God is so GOOD.

So I know He IS preparing me... for what is next. I wish He would tell us 10 steps ahead, but unfortunately that’s not the case. We must take that step of faith BEFORE.  Before we know, before we think we’re ready, before we “know it all.” But guess what? He goes BEFORE that!

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Did you catch that? God PREPARES BEFOREHAND! And we need to walk forward in HIS will for our lives. Not ours.... not our own desires... and not only where we feel comfortable, but in the work He has for us to do on this earth.  That’s truly all that matters friends, and it’s the BEST place we can be!

So this year for me it’s about:

  • Learning + doing = preparing

  • Growing in knowledge of Gods Word

  • Preparing the table, working

  • Learning to seek His will

What’s your Word? We’d love to hear what special word or theme you feel the Lord is wanting to show you this year and what you think it means. 🙏🏻

Have a great day,

Laura
