One little word...

I’ve been thinking about the word I started this year off with.  How about you? Do you remember that #olw you wanted to focus on this year?

Please note: This is not some Word of Faith “name it and claim it” or speaking something into existence nonsense… This started in the world of scrapbooking years back with Ali Edwards and is just focusing on a word you want to highlight, write about, and live with, within the span of a year. I want to be clear on this.

And years ago I decided that I would make that word a Biblical word to focus on.

So 2022 was the word GROW.

And here’s the Bible verse that inspired that word:

“But GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”  2 Peter 3:18

As we close 2022, I’ve been asking myself if this word (and the inspiration verse) impacted my life this year?

Did I GROW in grace & knowledge, among other things…

Yes, I believe I did, and here’s why:

As Christ followers, God’s Word tells us Jesus is sanctifying our lives daily as we “dwell” in His Word.  (Col. 3:16) In the last 8 years I have actually opened up the Bible (outside of church) and started learning what God’s Word says. That is a gift I’m so thankful the Holy Spirit did in my life.

And, as we grow in our knowledge of God’s Word, and humbly pray, we’re awe struck at what He did for us; growing our faith & appreciation of His gift of grace even more!

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

So stay tuned for 2023 friends… because that growth has had a purpose. And I’ll share that with you very soon! (and my #olw too) 💕

Post Edit: This post was shared on my IG on 12/29/22 but I wanted to share it on my blog as well since I know some of you are not on social media.
