I feel like I’ve just been given a gift…
And I have to tell you about it.
After church today I had some down time (I’m not into football) so I was in my office about to have some creative time.
But I thought I’d check flights for this summers retreat in Italy first. Since Lance couldn’t come to Paris in September & my flight home was on a different airlines, we got back miles from Air France that we wanted to use for this year. (Tip: always use miles to get over to Europe!)
So I’m online and notice the amount of miles I have. But then I click on it & it says 215k of them expired LAST NIGHT!! I literally got the sweats & thought “oh my goodness, I lost all those miles?!😱
Then I thought “why does it say I still have all of them though? I wonder if I could try to book flights and it would work with those expired miles? So at the same time I’m trying to frantically search for tickets I’m also calling Air France about to beg to get my miles back…
Well, I’m on hold forever & I decide to book tickets and see if it works…
And it did! 🎉🎉🎉
I got 4 one-way tickets to Paris and it deducted the miles from the original amount I had! AND… those four tickets were on the ONLY day the week before our retreat that required the lowest amount of miles per ticket! The other days in that week we’re double or triple the amount of miles, and this was the perfect day for us to leave! AND it was the only non-stop flight of that week!! 🙌🏻
I finally get the guy on the phone and tell him about everything and he says that because it was a holiday weekend, they didn’t take those miles out of my account yet, and that’s why I was still able to use them!!
Can you believe it?! What a gift from God! Seriously, I am praising Him because flights are not cheap right now and this was a blessing that I didn’t lose those miles, AND we got the day we wanted to leave, AND we got THE lowest miles flight, AND we get to spend a day and a half IN Paris before we head to Italy for our retreat!
I feel like a kid in a candy store (or Angelina’s 😉) and I just had to share the goodness of God in this story! 🙌🏻🇫🇷
Hugs,
Laura
P.S I had left over miles and was able to get our tickets from Paris to Milan and then 2 tickets from Milan home, all with those miles! Praising God tonight friends. I can’t wait for our retreat THIS June!!
Post Edit: This was shared on my IG on 1/1/23 but I wanted to share it here on my blog as well b/c I know some of you are not on social media.
