“Picture yourself standing on a precipice with arms outstretched, contemplating what lies ahead. You search, but you can’t quite see what is waiting there for you. You so want to take that leap but you are uncertain. There is fear, anxiousness, excitement, anticipation, and hope. Then imagine you lean into the dive and begin to free fall toward the unknown. As you are moving, you feel loving arms around you, cradling and reassuring you as they gently lay you down in a safe, soft place. That is a tiny metaphor for my experience at the Art & Faith Retreat in Bellagio, Italy hosted by Laura McCollough.
How could I have imagined such a beautiful trip with exactly the right group of women? Once again, when I trusted the Lord, He led me to where He needed me to be. Not only was I lavished with love, gifts and experiences, but I also came away with abiding friendships and a deeper relationship with Him. Laura was born to do this, I truly believe that. She has such grace and peace about her that rubs off on everyone she comes close to. Every hour of every day was a surprise and delight as she layered genuine affection mingled with her gift of ministering to others. I am so glad that I allowed myself to free fall into this beautiful place and time and that Laura was open to God’s plan for her. I can’t wait to return!"

“When God nudges you to step out of your comfort zone, trust Him, be brave and leap! I found myself in Bellagio, a picturesque town on the shore of Lake Como, a month ago and it still feels like a dream. Even so, there were challenges that God brought me through before healing could come. A light was shown on old wounds that were holding me back and I leaned on Him for help. This incredible retreat can be all you desire it to be - a marvelous art retreat or one that offers deeper growth, or both!
The breathtaking beauty and peaceful quiet of the area combined with time spent with wonderful ladies also called to be a part of the Art and Faith Creative Retreat, brought home to me how much God loves us. He calls us out of our comfort zone so we can better experience His love. As I sat beside the lake writing in my devotional, the ever fragrant Jasmine in the air, my heart was humbled by His love for me.
Though we learned creative ways to express our faith through art, we dined at fabulous restaurants, explored the area and enjoyed special events and memorable moments. The retreat is truly about God, art and the opportunity to make lasting friendships. I am grateful to God for this gift and to Laura for listening when He called.”

It has helped me to expand my appreciation of God's word. Yesterday's ODB verse was 2 Cor.4:16-5:5. I also prefer the Amplified Bible translations of verses.
