Standing in the Gap...

I want to share with you the power of PRAYER and the power of GATHERING together in prayer.

Today I had the privilege to listen in on a GLOBAL prayer meeting and let me tell you… it was POWERFUL! (and you’ll have that opportunity TONIGHT to do that as well.. so stay till the end for the details)

I don’t know how many thousands of people from around the world participated, but it was an hour of prayer with people participating and listening in and I know God heard our cries. March 3, 2020 is a day I won’t forget… it was a day of standing in the gap to stop the Coronavirus.

A global prayer meeting that was interceding and asking for God to show His power and stopping this Coronavirus so it goes NO FURTHER.

But it was more than that.

We, the church, are the body of Christ. We are “representatives” of Christ, and therefore we have the privilege to share with the whole world what Christ has done for ALL of us. The power that we have been given in HIS name! I think today marked a day for me personally that woke me up to the confidence that we can have in this. It emboldened me in big ways to share God’s TRUTH, in LOVE. So I’m starting right here…

I want to share with YOU what a group of people did today, in Jesus name.

The prayer meeting started with one pastor reading out loud Psalm 91. I’m sharing it with you below because I want you to take a minute and read it for yourself.

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

Friends, THIS is powerful! This is the power WE have when we trust in the Lord. Isn’t this the power we want the whole WORLD to come and see and want for themselves?

God is FOR US!!

Yes, I know there is a sense of fear that the enemy wants us to have, but when we read Psalm 91, we can trust that God is our refuge and fortress… He will protect us and deliver us! We can set our eyes on God, we can call out to Him and He will answer.

John 10:10 reminds us: “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Did you hear that… Christ came so that we may have LIFE, and life abudantly! We CAN have a Spirit of peace (Shalom) and not fear. Don’t you want this peace? Don’t you want to have the power of the Holy Spirit flood you with His comfort? I would encourage you right now to get on your knees and pray against any fears you may have. I know there are fears right now. I know we are scared of what this Coronavirus may do to us. But I have to tell you, as they were praying against the fear from the enemy, I had an overwhelming feeling of release of that fear! The Lord just rushed in His peace and I felt it. THANK YOU JESUS! It was powerful, and I want you to know that peace too. Why would I hoard that peace? Why would anyone keep that peace for themselves when they know it is there for all! That is why I have such a heart to share the Love of GOD with everyone. That’s why I don’t care if you think I’m stupid, or simpleminded or crazy… I KNOW don’t deep in my soul that there is a GOD and He is a God of love and hope, and mercy… and GRACE!

During the prayer there were many things this global prayer meeting prayed for and I want to quickly list them below:

  1. We prayed against fear and we prayed for the spirit of peace to come upon this world.

  2. We prayed for wisdom for our leaders and all those battling this virus.

  3. We prayed for all those working to help eradicate this virus and come alongside our leaders.

  4. We prayed for repentance for any feelings of hate or racism towards any nationality because of this virus.

  5. We prayed for compassion.

  6. We prayed that the world would see that God is a God of mercy… He wants to give grace & mercy, not judgement!

  7. We prayed that this world would SURVIVE & THRIVE in the midst of this storm!

  8. We prayed and asked God to STOP the Coronavirus. That it would go NO further!

  9. We prayed for Christians around the glove to have courage to share the HOPE of Jesus in this time of crisis.

  10. We prayed for a great awakening around the world, like many prophetic voices have predicted will happen.

  11. We prayed for the Gospel to be spread, instead of the Coronavirus!

  12. We prayed for HEALING. (This is the word God gave me last year for THIS year… more on that another time)

  13. We prayed for God to be magnified!

And Tonight, they are going to do another GLOBAL prayer meeting, and I really encourage you to be a part of it too!

It will be at 7:14pm CST today…March 3rd. That means it’s at 6:14pm Colorado time, 5:14pm California time and 8:14 East Coast Time! (2:00am for friends of mine in Europe)

It’s simple to join. You call this number: 712-775-7430 and type in the access code: 2452# and you’ll be patched in. You’ll be on mute so they can’t hear you, but you can hear them. There will be moments where they will Unmute and you will hear the prayers of thousands at one time… which is AMAZING to witness and be a part of!

In addition to this, they are wanting to do a global Communion during this one tonight, so get some cups of grape juice or wine ready to partake with them.

We are the GLOBAL CHURCH my friends. We CAN and NEED to stand in the gap.

There comes a point in your life where you decide… do I stand on the Word of God, that I claim to believe… with the people of GOD…

or do I continue in complacency… Or continue in fear… or continue to put my head in the sand and ignore things.

I want to stand in the gap WITH you. For you. For the World.

I heard someone a while back explain the Gospel in such a way that it was like a vaccine… (which is quite ironic now) They said if you had the power to SAVE people that were dying from a deadly disease, if you have the “Antidote” to heal the sick… wouldn’t you give it away freely!?! Wouldn’t you want every single person to have this LIFE SAVING gift!?!

That IS what we have! As a believer in Jesus Christ, we have such a gift. We have the power to give away what will truly save!

We are all created by God and loved by God and He has a plan and purpose for each of us! Here below are two short videos I think will be very powerful if you listen to them.

If your heart is calling out to know more, I would encourage you to PRAY right now. Ask God to show you what is means to have a relationship with Him, the creator of your very life. If you’ve never heard the Gospel message, open a Bible and start reading it. Here’s a 3 minute video on the essential parts of the Gospel:

You can click HERE to also hear the message of the gospel, in a very simple way (The Gospel in a nutshell as some say :)

II Timothy 1:7 says: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

I believe it with my whole life, and friends… I want you to know it too.

Love,

Laura McCollough
